 Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays – great food, wonderful family, none of the pressures of gift-giving and of course the MACY’S DAY PARADE AND SANTA! This year, however, may be a little bit different. As Fall is ramping up, I’m sure everyone has already started to prepare and plan for the holidays.  It’s not a surprise that holiday celebrations may change a bit this year.  Best options?  Avoid unnecessary travel and have an intimate Thanksgiving feast filled with all the trimmings, whether it be inside or outdoors with family and friends in the same household.  Need some ideas of what to do while the turkey cooks? Have a scavenger hunt to keep your kids guessing, make a Thanksgiving craft, play an outdoor game, or go on a family walk (burn off all those calories!)  How much fun would it be to make it a family affair and let everyone in the house help get that special dinner on the table, so let’s get creative!  Missing some of your favorite people??……participate in a virtual turkey fest and mix that festive fall cocktail or two (and of course those irresistible desserts!).  Watch a cozy Hallmark Christmas movie (my favorite) and if you want to get a head start on the holidays, add some shiny decorations. Light that beautiful candle! Remember there is still the 94^th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade shifted to a television only special presentation, showcasing the Macy’s Parade’s signature mix of giant character helium balloons, fantastic floats, street performers, clowns and heralding the arrival of the joyous season with the one-and-only SANTA CLAUS!!!!!   ‘Tis the season for gratitude, giving and lots and lots of delicious food……so pull up that special seat at the dinner table, put on those stretch pants, kick back, relax, keep the tradition alive and NOSH, NOSH, NOSH (and don’t forget that great Black Friday deals too!)

Matthew Struck co-founded Treadstone Risk Management in 2017. He has over 12 years of experience in the Risk Management and Insurance Industry. Prior to insurance, Matt began his career in retail banking with TD Bank N.A. He spent 5 years beginning as a Teller and working his way up to Business Development and Management Team Leader. From there, he spent 7 years heading up the NJ Public Entity Property & Casualty Division for Brown & Brown Insurance, Inc, a publicly-traded national insurance brokerage. In addition to his responsibilities in developing business relationships and servicing current clients, Matt heads up the media generation and distribution at Treadstone. These include the TRM Risk Advisor Blog and YouTube Channel as well as the weekly livecast Build Your Bottom Line that focuses on Real Estate Development, Management, Investing, and Construction. Mr. Struck received his Bachelor’s Degree in 2003 from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA where he majored in Biomedical Engineering. Mr. Struck then received his MBA in 2007 from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park, NJ with a concentration in Finance and Investment. Mr. Struck holds a New Jersey Insurance Producers license with authorities in Property & Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance. In addition, Matthew holds the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations. Matt resides in Morris Township, New Jersey with his family. For more than 40 years Montville Kiwanis Food Pantry has served the communities of Montville, Pine Brook, and Towaco. The food pantry will remain open to serve those in need during these difficult times and work to stay committed to assisting our friends and neighbors. The Pantry is located at 91 Passaic Valley Road and hours of operation are Thursdays, 4 pm-6 pm, and Saturdays, 10 am-12 noon. ​ Operating procedures have been altered in compliance with local health department guidelines. Regular clients, and residents impacted by this situation, will be asked to stay in their cars upon arrival. Pantry volunteers will place pre-packed bags of groceries near the client’s car. The client can load them and depart. Social distance will be strictly maintained between clients and volunteers, and between volunteers. ​ The Pantry is facing shortages as it replenishes its shelf stock. Liberty Office Suites is seeking monetary donations for the Pantry and will match all donations up to $500. Please make your check payable to The Montville Kiwanis Food Pantry and send to Liberty Office Suites, 330 Changebridge Road, Suite 101, Pine Brook, NJ 07058 no later than November 20^th.
