HOME IS THE HEART OF THE HOLIDAYS

There’s no place like home for the holidays as the famous old song goes and this year those words couldn’t ring truer. Many families and loved ones have decided to kick back, relax, avoid the hustle and bustle of the season and celebrate alone instead of the normal family get togethers.  As disappointing as this may be, I have a sneaking suspicion there is a silent sigh of relief and quiet enjoyment staying dressed in holiday pjs all day long home sweet home style.  After all that shopping it sounds enticing, doesn’t it?  If that’s the case, have no fear, here are some really great holiday quarantine ideas to help deck the halls with jolly.

Just because you can’t get together in person doesn’t mean you can’t see your family and friends, have virtual party and celebrate with games, conversation and merriment.  If you have youngsters, chat with Santa on the phone!  Use Santa Club to book a video conversation with jolly old St. Nick which is a great memory to keep.  Mix a cozy cocktail (there are so many festive winter flavors to choose from) over a warm stovetop, it makes the house smell incredible and cook that holiday feast (just think of all the yummy leftovers you will have).  What to do between opening presents and dinner hmmmmm…….watch a Christmas movie and unwind with a little noshing too!  Lastly, check your town’s newspaper or website to find a list of holiday happenings such as visiting an outdoor Christmas tree or holiday market and if you are lucky enough to have a white Christmas, go sleigh riding, build a snowman or find a nearby ice skating rink.  If the weather is nice, walk around the neighborhood to look at everyone’s decorations!

There are so many holly jolly cozy creative activities, who says you really have to leave the comforts of home at all? I for one can hardly wait!
